| Bio: | Hermione Granger was born in September 1979 to Brian and Susan Granger, dentists in Birmingham. When she was twelve a woman appeared at her parents house to explain that Hermione was a witch and had been invited to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hogwarts is the very best school of magic there is, so of course she stopped reading her high school English texts and started reading Hogwarts, A History. It became clear to Hermione that something was amiss with Hogwarts. It was as though the world were gearing up for a confrontation between good and evil, except that the forces of evil were not gathering, and there was no champion-to-be for the side of good. Hermione's investigation of what happened (which would have annoyed her friends, had she any), continued right threw OWL and NEWT preparation. By the time she completed Hogwarts, she knew where to go, and how the world was supposed to be (mostly). She arrived in Margate on a Saturday in August, a few weeks before she turned seventeen. She had with her a bottomless rucksack, two changes of clothes, several books on universe manipulation and an ugly cat.
